Tater Tidbit: Derek Davenport has been growing potatoes with Allied Potato for more than 15 years. While Allied Potato itself is young, it’s built on the heritage of people whose roots in agriculture go back generations. The team cares deeply about the land, the people they work with, and the communities they support!
Sustainable Spud: Derek has participated in our corporate sustainable agriculture program and uses several regenerative practices, including:
🌱 Planting Cover Crops: adds protective cover, carbon-rich matter, and plant diversity that build soil health.
🐝 Maintaining Pollinator Habitats: supports bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
💧 Using Soil Moisture Sensors: helps farmers to steward their use of irrigation water.
🌷Practicing edge-of-field management: prevents field runoff to conserve soil and water.
